Default Already!?

I hear people are already in the Crystal Desert. Now I think thats pretty far in the game...

Did the people who are there rush?
Are they just really good?

I'm only at Divinity Coast and I'm starting to a bit idiotic...

Thanks,
Kiwi

Well, a lot of them have been playing in the BWEs, so they basically know how to beat all the levels slightly past Lion's Arch

I never played any of the betas and I'm at Henge of Denravi... I certainly haven't been rushing either, I have 3 alts in Yak's Bend.

I have done all of the side quests before Lions Arch, and a few after it. I even explored for a long time and found a few side towns. Right now I am at the mission after The Wilds.

I haven't done every quest, there are a few I didn't feel like doing because they would take too long. I did most of the ones I found though.

I played in all the betas, and I only just joined the Academy with my first character. I want this game to last until the first expansion pack...

In the betas, I was in more of a hurry, and usually just reached lions arch at the time for the end party

I'm almost finished with the crystal desert, just have to do the last mission (Elona's Reach is a pain), and i'll be heading to Southern Shiverpeak. I wouldn't say I was in a rush, as I have all the waypoints up until crystal desert. I have to admit, I haven't been doing all the quests, but I've done whatever was on the way, and if there were any important skills I wanted. I've also been out capturing Word of Healing and Healing Hands, which took it's time to achieve. I've played in all the betas since october, but I never really ran PvE from the beginning, so no, I wouldn't say it's because I knew exactly where to go. I've also been playing my usual average gaming time a day, 10+ hours on weekdays, 20+ on weekends. Everything's rather easy up until crystal desert in my opinion, and most missions can be done with henchies. It gets challenging here though, which is fun I'm enjoying myself alot, but I don't consider myself that far

Got to the ring of fire a couple of days ago. I didn't rush ahead at all, but I did play pretty extensively the first couple of days. Got 59 skills unlocked, more then half of the item mods (not in perfect condition though). Hopefully I will get some more time during the next couple of days so I can finish the last couple of missions and start unlocking runes (only got around 10 unlocked so far). I have really enjoyed my time so far, have just been playing through the missions and seeing what was there, and suddently we were in the ring of fire

Update, 6 hours later, just failed Elona's Reach twice. Tough mission.

I envy people who actually have the luxury of playing the game for casual or entertainment purposes... unlike myself, heh. Still, i'm a little surprised to hear that some people (that aren't Alpha testers) have already made it as far as they have.

Well, I'm in the desert, having completed every quest I could find up to that point, as well as opening up all the outposts and doing a fair amount of EA exploring. My char is somewhere around 40 hours now, and I think I'm approaching 100 skills unlocked. I've completed several quests in the desert and unlocked 4 outposts and 2 of the missions- I've been in sight of the portal for another desert mission twice, but the enemies guarding it were too much, and I ended up getting bugged henchies who ran off into the middle of nowhere, so my party wouldn't resurrect. I'll likely be finishing the desert tomorrow and heading on, having done all the quests I could find, and exploring most of the EA's.

One thing that helps is that I know where pretty much everything is from my time in the Alpha- I don't really have to spend much time re-doing things that I've already done. I also don't have work(got a job finally, but I don't start for another week), so I've got a fair amount of time to play. Seeing as that time's going to be cut down starting next monday, I figure I might as well get as much done while I'm still unemployed as I can, without the guilt that I would have otherwise taking time out of my job search.
